The first academic programme under KAMLS was conducted by Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, Mysore as “FORENSIC WORKSHOP” on 14-3-2015.
The programme began at the auditorium of Police Training School, Channapatna by lightening of the lamp by the dignitaries. Sri Syed Ulfath Hussain, IGP training, Sri B.Dayananda, IGP, Addl CP (traffic), Director FSL & Dr Dayananda .M, Dy DME were the chief guest. The programme was presided by Dr B. Krishnamurthy, Dean and Director, MMCRI, Mysore. Guest of Honors was Dr Chandragupta, SP, Ramnagara and Dr Pradeep Kumar M.V,
President, KAMLS. It is the first of its kind in India where a live demonstration of ballistics, crime scene and forensic photography was done. Delegates from different parts of India participated in the programme. Different firearms were fired from different ranges and the delegates were shown the effects on target. The method of collection over the hand of the shooter for GSR examination was also demonstrated. Two crime scenes were constructed and the delegates were made to appreciate the method of approaching to a scene of crime. At the same venue the required photographs and method of taking it was also demonstrated. KMC observer Dr Chandru, Professor, Dept of Forensic medicine and Toxicology, SMC, Tumkur was present throughout the session and KMC awarded two credit hours for the programme.
